During the Peace Hour, harpists should play whatever music they enjoy playing and are comfortable with- but ideas are always welcome. Please send your suggestions and copyright-free arrangements to info@harpistsforpeace.com and they will be posted on this page. Should you have any difficulty printing music directly from the document-sharing website Scribd, try downloading it to your computer first, then print. That should solve any problems. 'WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD' (ARR. GARY GUTHMAN)
Polish harpist and Peace Hour participant Gosia Guthman and her husband, composer Gary Guthman, have put together a beautiful arrangement of this song for solo pedal harp, especially for the Peace Hour. You can download and print it here: www.scribd.com/doc/16338790/What-a-Wonderful-World-For-Solo-Harp
FREE SHEET MUSIC DOWNLOADS FROM JANET LANIER
'I just saw your Harpists for Peace site today. Great idea. I'd like to offer the url to the free harp sheet music I have on my website. These are not difficult pieces and have no lever/pedal changes. One piece is a Christmas song but the other 2 could be used (Summer Lullaby and Lament for Kilcash). The URL is: janetlanier.com/page/free-music-to-download
Thanks! Janet Lanier (janetlanier.com)'
AULD LANG SYNE (ORIGINAL MELODY), ARR. ISOBEL MIERAS
Many thanks to Isobel Mieras, Artistic Director of the Edinburgh International Harp Festival, for sharing this lovely arrangement with Harpists for Peace:
PEACE ROUND
Dreama Powell of the Scottish Harp Society of America has suggested Jean Ritchie's 'Peace Round' as an easy piece that all levels could quickly learn. I can't find the sheet music in a downloadable form that I know is definitely legal, but if you go to the website of 'Cantaria' (an educational resource of folk songs) you can listen to an mp3 recording- for those of you comfortable with learning music by ear! http://chivalry.com/cantaria/lyrics/peaceround.html
