"Harpists for Peace" is an international group of harpists, harpers and harp lovers who care about world peace. It was founded in 2007 by harpist and human rights activist Alexis Aria.

In July 2009, the first ever Peace Hour was held globally.  Harp players all over the world played their instruments for one hour, inviting one hour of reflection on Peace and the dream of Peace.

Locations varied from one's own porch to cafes, gardens, historical sites, beaches, parks, churches, concert halls, on a yacht, Ground Zero, the Holocaust Monument in New York, and Parliament Square in London.

Peace Hour 2010 was on 10-10-10.  Harpists and harpers  in every precious corner of the world made it the most special day for our Harpists For Peace family.  So many touching stories, inspirations, videos and pictures.  It was just beyond words.  We all know that we will never be the same.

Peace Hour 2011 was held on September 11.   Harpists all over the world joined in with their melodies to help with healing on such a difficult day.

****  The set date for Peace Hour 2012 is July 15.  Please e-mail us your name and your location, and we will input it on the 2012 World Map.  Thank you, and Peace & Love.  ****

To contact Alexis, please e-mail us at info@harpistsforpeace.com .  Also, if you would like to leave comments on our Guestbook, it will be lovingly appreciated.

Please feel free to go to the World Map pages to see the towns and cities that were represented in Peace Hour 2009, 2010, and 2011.   Check out the photo galleries and so much more at the menu to the left of this text.  There will be many more pictures to come.

We will be making a beautiful collage of harpists all over the world playing at Peace Hour.  This DVD will be a token of thanks to all the harpists and harpers who would like a souvenir of this precious and wonderful occasion.

We would love to hear all your Peace Hour Stories, and also any press cuttings or publicity.  We will gladly share them here on the website.

Love to each and every one of you,

The Harpists For Peace family
